We started with the systematic use of video systems in the presentation of furnished apartments at the beginning of 2006. Naturally this step represented another premiere in the real estate sector of North-Rhine Westphalia. It is yet another example of the many advancements that have been the trademark of e-rent for years now.
Not only do we invest a lot into constantly improving ourselves, but it is also an integral part of our company's philosophy (in addition to our high service standards). The individual examples of innovations have resulted in a story of its own by now (see: innovation chronology).
We are particularly interested in comparing the videos with the interactive 360°x360° panorama pictures. There have been intense debates among our staff about the usefulness of the video project. Do the videos convey anything that Ipix doesn't already show? Which features might be better and which not? Can one system supplement the other? And if yes: is it worth the effort?
Oddly enough, the first customer reactions have been rather contrary to the reserved attitude of our ‚technicians'. The ‚artist faction' among our staff has finally prevailed; several questions about the relation between Ipix and video still cannot be answered, however.
We would be very grateful, if you could briefly report back to us about your impressions. For however interesting the argument between our ‚artists' and ‚technicians' might have been what really matters to us are our customers' preferences. It would be helpful to know if you're writing from a tenant's or a landlord's/landlady's point of view.

One difference has been firmly established by now, however: in contrast to Ipix the video presentations will remain a privilege for certain kinds of properties only. If you want to keep a high grade of quality, a certain level of expenses cannot be avoided (even if you are experienced in what you're doing). And that experience has taught us that the corresponding jobs can only be rationalized to a limited degree in terms of the time spent on them.
In the long run the target group for video presentations will therefore be concentrated in the high value segment (and may be extended to properties of landlords/landladies with whom we cooperate exceptionally well).
